Yes, it's stainless and yes, it shows fingerprints and watermarks. You do have to wipe it down to keep it looking nice.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I think it is stainless. The strip at the top is the only part you need to touch when operating and opening it, so it's easy to keep clean. I used the aerosol stainless spray like twice in the month I've had the dishwasher and it looks great. I don't have little kids though!
