No you don't. This TV comes with a free channel app included. LG channels offers so many live channels and a great movie library that you can watch anytime for free.

From there on every time you turn on the TV your source menu will come up. All you do is select LG Channels and sit back and enjoy. The LG Channel is packed with many movies that you can watch at any time and there are so many (Live) Channels including all the major news network channels like ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX. I really enjoy the 80's live move channel and the old comedy sitcoms. This is all totally FREE. You will be amazed and you will save so much money. Goodbye Cable. David

Please keep in mind that you can also stream shows from your phone or cast from your laptop or desktop. ~Tanisha
