LG reps always say they don't use bitumen. They do. They're either uninformed or being dishonest. When it arrives and you see the black baked on stuff all around the outside, that's bitumen. If you're not sure, heat it up with a hair dryer for a moment and you'll smell it (like pavement).

Based on the LG LDFN4542S Dishwasher specifications, there is no specific mention of bitumen being used in the construction of this model. The tub is made of NeveRust™ Stainless Steel, which is known for its rust-resistant properties, and the dishwasher operates with a LoDecibel™ quiet system. https://www.lg.com/us/dishwashers/lg-ldfn4542s-front-control-dishwasher#pdp_specs We understand that having this clarification is important for you, and we hope this helps!
