If a monitor had an integrated hub for a mouse and keyboard, you could connect them to the monitor and connect a USB cable back to the computer. The LG 24" Class Full HD IPS Dual HDMI LED Monitor (23.8" Diagonal), Model # 24MP59HT-P has 2 x HDMI Input ports and a D-Sub input on it and it does not have an integrated hub that will allow you to plug in a keyboard or a mouse. You will need to plug those into a computer that is connected to the monitor. With regards to sound, if you're not getting any audio through the Headphone (3.5 mm) jack in the back of the monitor, you will need to check to make sure that your computer's audio settings are configured to output sound to the monitor...^IFV
