You don’t need to have a garbage disposal. There is a food trap and filter in the bottom of the dishwasher that I clean out after every wash.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You don't necessarily need a garbage disposal. There is a diagram in the manual on how to connect to garbage disposal. My previous dishwasher had a discharge pipe (not sure on the correct term) the hose went into instead of connecting it to the garbage disposal. When I installed this one, I contemplated connecting it to the garbage disposal but since the old dishwasher had the discharge pipe, I just installed this one like the old one. But you can look online at the installation pdf before purchase and see how its hooked up to the garbage disposal. I'd imagine all garbage disposals have the connect port, you'd just have to punch out a tab in the garbage disposal...it's all in the installation pdf online.
