Thanks for your post. I thought I had become a simpleton. I, too, rinse and often wash certain items b4 loading them. Consumed dairy products from glass mugs, glass bowls, spoons, forks and knives must be hand washed first, or they won't come clean. I actually dread loading the dishwasher now, a brand-new Quad Wash. The middle rack is particularly aggravating. I spend a lot of time tweaking that middle rack. The bottom part isn't much better, esp. when the silver wear basket is in use. Yes I know that it's removable, but the size of it prevents loading more than a couple of large items on the bottom *if* I chose not to hand wash a bunch of cutlery.
