The power cord is all you need to be able to turn on the monitor. It connects to Wifi so you have the option to use the monitor like you would any smart TV to connect to the internet. You would need an HDMI cable to connect it to a laptop or CPU to operate it as a normal computer though.

We understand that you’re wondering how many wires are needed to operate the LG 27SR5BF-P Smart Monitor, excluding the mouse and keyboard. For the LG 27SR5BF-P Smart Monitor, you’ll need two main wires: Power cable – This connects to an electrical outlet to provide power to the monitor. HDMI cable (or USB-C if applicable) – This is used to connect the monitor to your desktop or laptop for video output. For most modern desktops, the setup is similar. Typically, you'll need a power cable for the monitor and a video connection (such as HDMI, DisplayPort, or USB-C) to connect the monitor to your desktop. The mouse and keyboard are separate peripherals, and generally, there are no additional wires required for the desktop to function unless you’re using a wired mouse/keyboard, which are typically connected via USB. https://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-27sr5bf-p-smart-monitor#pdp_specs If you have any more questions or need assistance, feel free to send us a private message on Social Media @LGUSSupport, and we'll be happy to help! —Renzo
