• No, hooking up DirecTV to this TV will not give it Smart features. Smart TVs offer streaming services, smart home control, and in some models a built-in smart assistants. ^Daphane

• No, but you can buy a device that allows you to stream. I don't know the correct name of the device, but Best Buy probably carries it. I also use DirecTV and would like to disable the voice assistant but can't since I have to use DTV's remote. Do you know how to do it?

• i actually don't as yet have this tv -- best buy has not yet been able to deliver it. fourth attempt coming up tomorrow. i don't know what their problem is.
