Exchanged for a new one. New one was much faster to cool down and sustains it's temps better. Saw the front door bin get up to 45 late one night when no one was using the fridge, but it's possible left overs from dinner warmed up the fridge at that point before it cooled down again because by morning it was 38 and today it's between 33 and 35 which is perfect. Hoping it'll stay like this.

Also said that I need to wait 24-48 hours for it to cool down before filling the fridge back up if I do a big shopping spree because I'm low on groceries. How ridiculous. So if I come home with melted ice cream because the walmart checkout line took an hour, my ice cream is going to melt for an additional 48 hours because the fridge can't cool down fast enough. Best Buy support was better than LG. They are going to send a replacement Monday unless it happens to cool down enough in the next 24 hours that I call and cancel it. With the few reviews I've seen online complaining about the same thing, even after several visits from LG technicians to fix it, I'm really nervous to keep this model. LG gets high praises on consumer reports and this model has great reviews across the web, but the bad reviews are super damning and I'm witnessing those exact problems. 1) Slow ice production (24 hours later half the bin is full and it's not a large bin..) 2) Tiny ice bin (can't even fill a cooler) 3) The fridge temps are inconsistent throughout and very slow to cool, but the freezer works fine. The ice stuff I knew before buying because I read the reviews and figured I could live with them, but the temp thing is a huge problem. I'll post again in 24 hours when I know if I'm going to get the replacement on monday or not.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I was using a thermometer laser gun, now I've got a digital thermometer from my gun safe sitting in there without me having to open the door (knock on the glass), I can see it's at 48.2. The fridge itself is still set to 33 and has been since at least 5-6 hours ago (originally was 35 or 36 for the first 18 hours or so of operation). Seems ridiculous that a minimally opened fridge, running for hours and hours and hours can't keep the front bin's cooler than 48....They NEED to be 40 or less to be useful.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Fan probably isn't circulating the air, could be frozen or just not working.
