• Have not tried it in Linux, but I think that would depend on your graphics adapter, not specifically the monitor. Sorry for the half-lame answer. Apologies if you were asking if Linux can support the extra wide resolution in general.

• Do not know from empirical evidence but I know of no reason why it wouldn't. I have mine hooked up to a mac mini running the latest OS X(10.11.5) and did not have to specify a specific display driver. It would depend on the flavor of your linux distribution (Ubuntu, Red Hat ..etc) and what drivers come with it or can be downloaded separately .
