I use music production software that has multiple windows. I connected the monitor to my laptop and it has made using the software a lot easier. I have room to open all modules with room to spare.

I purchased this monitor for the extra real estate and I loved it so much I went back and bought a second. I edit video and these monitors with split screens will work and allow multiple windows on each monitor. Extremely easy to set up with the software provided. LG even supplied the HDMI cable.

I have 2 of these monitors setup side by side. I use them for day trading and think they get the job done. I like them a lot and might end up buying 2 more. They are very responsive and recommended for day trading or gaming. The lag is not there so you will have a quick response when exicuting an order or trying to kill something while playing your PC games.

I intended to buy the monitor for my second display for dual screen purposes to match it with my 24" but ended up using just this one as my main screen and transfer my old one in my living room. The monitor works perfectly for me, it is wide, clear and a good looking monitor especially if it's mounted. Got it running at 75hz. The bad is i got a 1 dead pixel in the upper corner of the screen after using it for about a week that i did not get in my 4 years old 24" Asus led monitor, but so far it does not bother me at all.

I currently use 3 monitors for work and I have this one setup as my center landscape monitor in a PLP setup (portrait, landscape, portrait). I have all windows tiled so there is no wasted space anywhere. I also use this monitor for games and it looks great with my GTX 970.

I purchased this monitor for my husband to replace his old monitor. I specifically picked this because I thought the extra wide screen would come in handy in the MMORPGs he likes to play, especially ones with extensive landscaping in the game. He absolutely loves this monitor! The graphics are amazing and refresh rate is awesome!! I am so glad I saw this on display at our local Best Buy store!!!

Monitor powered up OK initially. First issue I have is it is not capable of the resolution advertised in Best Buy website, which says 2560X1080 at 75 Hz. It can only run at 60hz at that resolution resulting in lower visual quality that I was trying to avoid. After about 10 minutes monitor starts rolling. Same result 3 different computers. Long story... After hoop jumping....ordering new video card, new pc power supply, new cable....to prove that monitor is bad, then Best Buy 15 day return policy was past, they would not allow return. Now stuck with LG non-customer service, broken English email is confusing, call during business hours and says their closed, the link for chat they gave me was a bad link, every time I need to email them I have to start over with submit online email form and reexplain. Over 1 month, still can't use my computer with no monitor. Still trying to work with LG, to send it back to them bacause they want to try to repair it. No confidence, I am afraid its looking like I am out of $300.

I ordered this screen in "Open-BOX" in excellent condition. When i got package i was surprised. Screen was all covered with fingerprints. Back panel, where all connectors located, had big layer of dust. Plastic all was scratched. I don't know who in BestBuy think that this condition counts like "excellent".

So I set out to replace my old gaming setup which was 3x 24" Samsung monitors. I am a big fan of the monitors that can do a real crisp black and this one seemed to be quite nice. Beyond that the screen size is huge and styling on the monitor itself is nice, The bezel size is nice and small (about 1/4 inch so its good for multi monitor setups.
Excellent refresh rate, I very rarely experience motion blur in games or movies. While this monitor does not use V-Sync most don't still and it is not branded as a gaming monitor so no -star from me. Even without tearing seems to be minimal as well.
2 HDMI inputs and 1 Display port input make it easy to use multiple inputs and the pip functions work nicely when I tried them out.
At the time or purchase Bestbuy did not sell a Display port cable for it so I was forced to use another online retailer. Keep this in mind when buying if you plan to use Display Port. In some of the reviews I read on here before purchasing people complained of low refresh rates and resolutions. I believe this has more to do with them using HDMI which is limited as I have had zero problems currently running 2x nvidia GTX 970 in surround mode 7860x1080 @ 60hrz and have used many many others. The newer generation of this monitor is currently out as well, but improvements seem to be small and price tag is not. Great all around monitor but might not be the best for every gamer. If you do quickbooks or excel a lot you will love this.

I did considerable research on ultra wide monitors before making the decision to buy. I really wanted the 34" curved ultra wide with the 3440x1440 resolution, however that would have required upgrading my graphics card and I decided not to do that at this time. So the best compromise was the 29" ultra wide and thus far I am very impressed. I purchased a pair and side by side they provide tons of screen real estate. I play D&D 5E with Fantasy Grounds and the extra space allows for me to have maps and many other items open all at once with room to spare. So if you are a gamer or doing office type work where you need multiple items open with the ability to view them all at once, I would highly recommend this monitor.

I'm in IT and I perform a number of tasks support, implementation etc... I'm on my computer everyday. At my office I use 2 23" monitors but I'd gladly give them both up for 1 29" 21:9 monitor. I'm constantly flipping between 3-5 windows at a time but with this monitor I can have them all open at the same time.
Crisp image for both reading an multimedia. First time a turned it on I put on a Terminator movie and it looked great, did good in action scenes with minimal motion blur. NO BARS.... no black bars on the screen for movies because this is the format movies were originally recorded in.
I picked it up on Black Friday for a great price but the current price is still fair for the amount of monitor you're getting. It's the budget friendly 4k alternative.

I purchased two of these monitors on sale to replace my aging Lenovo 21in models. So far I love these monitors. The picture is crisp and color is true. The extra screen space is incredibly helpful as well. The build quality is great and (at least at this point) HDMI is pretty much on everything. The only cons I have expienrced thus far are that 1) they are a short, both in screen height and in stature as the back is not adjustable. There are plenty of aftermarket mounts to resolve this issue though 2) while the refresh rate is technically 75hz I have yet to be able to set it past 60hz. This seems to be settings issue though and there are plenty of fixes out there, they just take some time and know how. Overall, I highly recommend this montior.

I really was prompted to get this ultrawide because the price isn't bad for it at all compared to some others that I've seen. Great viewing angles from the sides and top. Games look amazing with a good GPU in your rig too. A big downside for me is that this monitor was advertised at 75hz at native resolution, which is also what the Best Buy employee told me it was. I was disappointed by this as I was looking forward to moving up from a 60hz display. I would also have loved to see a height adjustable stand for the price that the monitor is. Outside of those two flaws the monitor is a great step up from a 16:9.

This is hands down the best value for an ultrawide monitor
Pros
1. Resolution higher than HD 1080p
2. Great for multitasking and gaming
3. Very affordable considering the size and unique resolution
4. It can replace a 2 monitor setup
5. Wall mountable
Cons
1. the outer plastic looks good but not premium
2. If you are replacing 2 hd monitors with this the resolution might not be enough. Is like 1 and 1/2 monitors in one.

I bought this while it was on a sale. An IPS ultra-wide monitor for under $200? I bought TWO of them and ran home as fast as I could to start using them! I am extremely happy with the purchase, but there are some technical limitations any new buyer needs to understand before buying.
This monitor does not have built-in speakers. Instead, there is a green square with a headphone jack in the rear to plug speakers into. Unfortunately, this output seems to mute itself if the audio level being sent out of the HDMI port is too low, to the point that it ruins any quiet parts of songs or media. The workaround is to turn the monitor volume down to about 20/100 and crank the computer's HDMI audio output all the way up. This isn't perfect but it works very well.
Another major caveat is that this monitor requires an HDMI dual-link connection; if your video card supports resolutions wider than 1920x1200 and has an HDMI output, YOU MUST USE THE HDMI OUTPUT. My first monitor worked on my new laptop but my second monitor looked terrible on my desktop that had a DVI-to-HDMI conversion cable. YOU CANNOT ADAPT DVI TO HDMI FOR THIS MONITOR! IT WILL ***NOT*** WORK. You must use native HDMI. There are no DisplayPort inputs either; it's HDMI or bust.
If you don't mind these limitations, this monitor is a wonderful monitor. It is retina-burning bright, color reproduction is excellent, and the useful viewing angles are extremely wide. I use it with Adobe Premiere and After Effects; having more horizontal room for the timeline makes working with video so much easier! If you have a standard HD movie playing, you can expect black bars on the left and right, so the usable area for HD video playback is smaller than the advertised size of the monitor. If you have a video clip that is ultra-wide already and doesn't have the top and bottom black bars IN the video stream, you can watch ultra-wide movies full-screen on this thing. A media player with pan-and-zoom control like MPC-HC can also be used to zoom in and push the black bars off-screen as a workaround.

Excellent for coding, video editing, and more

There are five main things I do with my computer: programming, audio/video editing, music composition, browsing, and manage remote servers via SSH. I found that every single one of these tasks was enhanced greatly by using this monitor.
Here's the technical reason this monitor rocks: This monitor's 2560x1080 resolution gives you 1/3 more horizontal pixels (640 extra pixels) than the extremely common HD-standard 1920x1080 resolution seen all over the place. While this might not sound like a huge difference, the big advantage shows when you use multiple windows in a split-screen configuration because a half-screen window is now 1280 pixels wide instead of 960 pixels wide. Many websites expect at least a 1024-pixel wide window in desktop mode and force you to scroll horizontally or zoom the entire page out if you're below this minimum; this means that split-screen browsing on a 1920x1080 FHD monitor is too small to use comfortably. Some applications can take advantage of the 33% extra horizontal pixels in very valuable ways, too. Adobe Premiere benefits massively because not only is there more room for the timeline, there's also enough extra room to move the clip bin to the top and make even more room for it (see photo!)
Out of the box, the color settings were already properly calibrated for the video work I do. The monitor is very bright and the matte finish practically eliminates glare without detracting from the excellent image quality. I highly recommend this monitor, especially at the insanely low sale price I purchased it for. I even bought a second one!

This monitor I had the chance to purchase on sale . I would definitely have paid full price on it, as it is a very good product for the price . For a wide monitor, it is very efficient in providing you with the real estate you need to be able to get your work done in one screen rather than two . It is clear, quick refresh rate and will be stable and solid as long as you take care of it. Would defiantly reccomend
