Will this work on my Mac Pro 2008 desktop? null

It will work natively provided that your Mac Pro 2008 desktop has HDMI or DisplayPort output. Otherwise, you will need an adapter, however it is very likely that you will take a hit in resolution.

it uses standard HDMI and Displayport connectors, so if your Mac has any of those, it should work just fine.
