If your built in video capabilities does not support the extended wide resolution of this monitor, then no it will not fill the screen. The HP Spectre x360 only goes to 1920x1080 and not to this monitor's 2560x1080.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would check the max supported NVidia GPU resolution on the Spectre and update the Display drivers for the NVIDIA card. I use 2 HP Elitebook series and a 17 inch HP entertainment laptop and they all work perfectly fine in Same display across and Extended display with Intel And Radeon Graphics so I don't see why the spectre would produce a smaller image.

It is recommended that you change your screen resolution to 2560 x 1080/60Hz, but it will still go to a wide screen if your pc or laptop is limited to 1920 x108. (My resolution is less than that, but I don't game and it is fine for videos and my regular desk work, spreadsheets, etc.) I couldn't get mine to go wide screen either. So, I went to my display settings on my laptop and even though I couldn't change the resolution to a higher combination, I was able to get access to the full wide screen by making sure I was in regular landscape mode ***and then selecting "duplicate screen"*** to my actual laptop. It took over a month or two to figure it out and I only did by trial and error when I bought an HDMI converter box that prompted a message...about resolution. Good luck!
