• I have my LG Sound Bar connected to my LG 77" OLED Smart TV via the HDMI connection and I use my Roku remote to control my TV and my LG Sound Bar. I think most of the TV controls are controlled by bluetooth but the on/off and volume are controlled via infrared. So you have to point the remote at the the TV when you are turning the TV on/off or changing the volume. Otherwise all the other remote options are bluetooth and the remote does not have to be pointed at the TV.
