• No, but depending on your cable company you might be able to return the box and reduce your cable bill by streaming the content if your cable company has an app that is avail on the LG TV. I know the Xfinity streaming app is available on the TV.

• I too have a cable box and remote. I use the cable remote to control my TV. You do not have to use the streaming feature on the TV.
