• This TV has built in tuners ATSC and Clear QAM. ATSC is used to receive digital channels over the air. QAM is used to receive digital channels from a cable TV provider without use of a cable box. ^Daphane

• As with any Smart TV, all streaming apps will work over Internet. Unless you have cable, satellite, or some other provider, you will need an app to stream local channels. Apps download directly to the TV but services vary, just Google TV apps for details and comparisons of TV apps (some free service, some paid).
