“I have connected my SJ4R Soundbar via the optic cable and it works great with the TV but when I connect my laptop via HDMI to the TV, the sound does not come thru the sound bar . Can you explain how I can correct this?”

You need to change the sound properties on your computer to allow sound viaHDMI. You don’t need to change settings on the sound bar. Google how to change the properties if you are unsure but a basic guide is to right click the speaker icon in the bottom right and go to sound settings or properties. Look for hdmi and enable that device as default.
