It is normal for the fabric softener and the detergent compartments for the LG 4.1 Cu. Ft. High-Efficiency Top Load Washer with TurboDrum™ Technology - White, Model # WT6105CW, to have some residual water left after a wash cycle. This is due to the siphon system used to dispense the additives. However, if the compartments are completely full or filled with soap residue, it indicates a need for cleaning or a clog, or that the inserts are not properly installed in the detergent compartment, and that is probably why the whole tray popped open during the wash...^Ivan.
