No. This machine is ‘ventless’ and utilizes condensation technology to dry clothes.

I don't know. I bought this because I did not want a hole cut in the side of my house. So far I can say I am absolutely satisfied with the performance. When I was working I could put a load in when I got home and it was done well before bed time! I never have to change from one unit to another.
