Not sure about stacking but this unit does not require a vent and uses 120 VAC. My old units used 240 VAC. We have four in our household and we run this unit sometimes during the night as well as when we are away at work. The key is the clothes are done when we unload the unit. We have a system going for our laundry procedure so we do not find it to be an issue.

I recently told a friend of mine that it takes 3 hours to do a load of clothes. He yelled, "By gosh, I could do 6 loads in 3 hours...!" I said, "Well, it would take me 6 days to do 6 loads, but I'd be doing it in my sleep (by using the delayed wash setting.) If you did one load at night, put a 2nd load in when you get up in the morning, and put a 3rd load time delayed in before you leave for work, you would have 3 loads done that day in which you were not even there for 2 of the loads. Also, my wife has loads of clothes that she is afraid will shrink, so she takes them out either damp or wet. That would not take much more than a normal wash time. One load she wanted to come out damp, so we placed it on speed wash (15 min.), high spin, 30 min. dry (but she stopped the load at 10 to 15 min. into the drying cycle. So that load only took about 30 min. to 35 min. Let's say you have 7 loads at the end of the week. If you did one load a night, you'd be on top of your laundry. I guess I'm saying, "If you would want to be a little creative with your washing time, I think this washer could handle it." Also, the washer is a reg. washer. So if you hang clothes up to dry, it would be no different. Anyway, that's just my thoughts... :)
