• Hi, Mike! Yes, the dryer must be connected to the cold water tap using a new water supply hose. Do not reuse old hoses. Before proceeding with the installation, please ensure that you have provided yourself a water hose Y connector that will fit to residence's water tap. Great question! ~Rita
