No, the washer does not have technology to counter act this effect. It is recommended to clean the gasket and door seal regularly and check under the door seal for small items when unloading the washer as well as cleaning the drainage pump filter regularly. ^Daphane
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.To my knowledge, the washer does not have a technology answer to the mold/mildew issue of front loaders. Our answer is to leave the door open halfway for 18-24 hours after washing. We have had 2 front loaders (both Maytags) for over 15 years and never had much mold/mildew. Cleaning once or twice a year was enough. Recently, when the last Maytag died, we went to an LG front loader due to the excellent ratings and reputation. So far, so good!
