• The WM3500CW has a Speed Wash cycle that is designed for use with small loads such as what you are interested in. ^CP

• Yes, you can do a small load. Front load washers will start to turn to measure how much is in the washer before it starts filling with water and washing. It is very different from a top load, which fills with as much water as you tell it, small medium or large load.
