• You can keep a flashlight handy so that you can read the panel. This was a major omission in design. I would have gotten a different washer if I had known this.

• It does not. Others find it difficult to see as well. Each new model they push out, they remove another feature that made it unique and user friendly.

• neither my LG washer or dryer has a backlight. I agree with previous answer. If I had known I would have bought a different brand.

• No, it doesn't have a back light, this is my number 1 complaint about the LG design. In darker settings like laundry rooms and basements, the text for the touch buttons are impossible to see without an auxiliary light source.
