Hello there! Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We understand your inquiry regarding the LG 4.5 Cu. Ft. High-Efficiency Stackable Smart Front Load Washer. Purchasing a pedestal is optional; while it provides extra height and storage, it is not required for the operation of the units. Please note that if you choose to stack the dryer on top of the washer, you cannot use a pedestal beneath the washer for safety reasons. https://www.bestbuy.com/product/lg-4-5-cu-ft-high-efficiency-stackable-smart-front-load-washer-with-steam-and-built-in-intelligence-black-steel/J7G564PZ34 For further assistance and any specific concerns you may have, please contact us on lgdigitalcare@lg.sprinklrsupport.com.
