A:AnswerNo, it is not. I'm surprised LG hasn't answered this because it's a very simple reason. The locking mechanism on the washer is both electrical and mechanical because it needs to ensure no water gets out.
To accomplish this (and what LG wouldn't want to say is), they would either have to install and wire a second–often unused–locking mechanism, which would add to their cost, or trust the owner to perform some rewiring. Neither of these would be an acceptable option from a business perspective.

A:AnswerWe purchased the pedestal and love it. It raises the washing machine so you don’t have to bend over to load it. All the controls on the machine are on the front, so everything is right in front of you. The pedestal even has drawers so that you can store your detergent and supplies in there. Very handy.
A:AnswerThe way the newer machine attaches to the pedestal is completely different than the old one. I don't think it would be safe to use the older one as the machine might bounce off. Theres no way to convert the old one to.attach properly to the new washer.
