The lock is annoying but it’s a built in safety feature without a work-around option. I wish I could opt out of it.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't think there's any way to rinse the cap in the washer. I don't buy the giant detergent bottles for this reason. You can just buy normal size bottles or use detergent pods.
