“Can the detergent drawer open without the lid fully vertical, or will it "catch" preventing the drawer from opening if lid is at an angle? Trying to gauge whether cabinets 4" too low would still work for us.”

It opens with the lid dang near closed, so as long as you can get your arm in to pull the drawer open, it'll open all the way for you! Also you can use pods & downy ball & not have to touch the detergent drawer!
