Drop the sharpness to 15% or less and the backlight to approx. 50% - you will get a much cleaner looking picture especially from digital cable and compressed video sources (compression artifacts are minimized)- the color/tint/contrast settings don't need much adjustments. There is also a "gamma" setting - I found the low setting was more appropriate.
