No—this 42″ C4 OLED doesn’t use the classic 4″×4″ (100 × 100 mm) VESA pattern. Instead, the 42″ (and 48″, 55″, 65″, 77″) C4 models use a 300 × 200 mm hole layout—about 11.8″ horizontally by 7.9″ vertically. You’ll need a wall-mount (or VESA adapter plate) rated for 300×200 mm to hang it securely.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. What you are referring to as "the standard 4 inch square mounting holes for a wall mount" is what is called the VESA Mount Pattern. The LG 42" Class C4 Series OLED evo 4K UHD Smart webOS TV (2024), Model # OLED42C4PUA is a VESA-compliant display with a 300 x 200 mm VESA Mount Pattern. That means the VESA mounting holes are 300 mm (11.8") apart horizontally and 200 mm (7.87") apart vertically...^Ivan.
