Upscaling is a nice option on TV's but it is never as good good as Native 4K content. There will be 4K players and content coming out very soon probably by the end of March. Cnet has alot of coverage on the new tech being introduced at CES in Vegas going on this week. I would recommend a 4K player for the best picture the TV is designed for. The upscaling can be a tad laggy or pixel distortion depending on the source you apply to the TV. Hope this helps
