• 42.5" is the measurement of the screen diagonally, 38.4" is the measurement of the total width of the TV! Take a measuring tape and measure from left to right and you'll see your 38.4". Hope this helps

• The 38.4" is the actual width across the screen. The 42.5 is the diagonal measurement and the 43" is the class of TV.
