Open Box is an item that has been returned or has been on display.

Open box is basically someone returned the item and it is still working, so they make sure everything works as it’s supposed to and sell it again. Or it was a display model and they packaged it. There are different levels to open-box, but most work and look like a brand new product.

open box is a product that someone bought and didn't like it for some reason and returned it. the box had been opened but everything was still there. You get it at a discount price because the box has already been opened.

It was either returned or a display most likely. It can't be sold as new, but should still work properly and have a warranty and all of that. It might have scratches and cosmetic damage though.
