“I see that the top of the AC that is positioned outside does not have vents? So how does the unit that position outside ventilate? From the sides? Also is there any downside to this unit than from the standard AC? Or something before Ordering it?”

The unit has vents along the sides and back for air flow on tbe outside. In tbe inside, it has a vent at the bottom and sides but no top. I love this unit and keep it on energy saver mode and it cools my living room noticeably in about 10 minutes. Only downside is the unit fan for blowing air is pretty weak vs say my floor unit or even a smaller Frigidaire window unit. That said, the air flow is still great. I would recommend for faster cooling, using a small rotating desk fan somewhere to just encourage even air flow. But its not required.
