The BB answer is 2 to 3 times the running amps (specified as 10.8 amps). So the Starting Amp power requirement is 21.6A to 32.4A? Most residential breakers for standard room outlet receptacles are 15A to 20A. So it can’t be used in a typical home, or is the BB answer to the question in error?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Regrettably, the motor's label for the LG 450 Sq. Ft. 10,200 BTU DOE Smart Portable Air Conditioner with Supplemental Heater - White, Model # LP1025WHSM, does NOT list the starting amperage for the unit. It only specifies its running current, often referred to as FLA (Full Load Amps). The starting amperage (also known as the LRA or Locked Rotor Amps) required to kick the compressor into motion is typically 2 to 3 times higher than the running amps. The technical data in the specifications for this unit on its product detail page on the company site lists a rating of 10.8 amps for cooling (i.e. running amperage)...^Ivan.
