Can I use my Dish Network remote with this TV null

I just got this tv and can NOT believe that the features I had on my Xfinity remote are not possible with this one. There is no Pause, Forward, Back buttons for live tv. For recorded shows, and when you do use those functions, you canNOT preview what you are forwarding through. Thereby, MISSING huge chunks of shows or suffering through the commercials, which is the reason for forwarding in the first place! I am so angry! I know I didn't answer your question. But, I am not able to connect my Xfinity remote with it.
