Hello, that's a great question and I had to consider when shopping. After reading all the reviews and seeing these different sets in-person. The simple answer is "no, you can't see the difference just watching the tv." You might be able to see a fraction of a difference if you scrutinize each pixel, but then that's not how anyone watches tv.

I made the decision to go with the A2. The unit has a Fantastic Picture and we have totally enjoyed viewing it especially sporting, and outdoor events.
