• That is correct. A very important control to have, and some idiot decided to eliminate it on a high-end TV.

• I just received a brand new C5 and that remote also does not have a dedicated mute button! The only way I can get it to mute is by completely turning the volume down! Then when I want the volume back again I have to painstakingly turn it back up! I hate this remote!

• No, there's no dedicated Mute button. Honestly, we've had this TV for 2 days and the lack of a mute button on the remote has me considering returning the whole thing. I feel betrayed. The mute button is my favorite button. All I want is a way to quick toggle between Silence and the-exact-volume-I-selected-earlier. To add insult to injury, the remote features a dedicated AI button located top-center.

• You need to press and hold the volume down button for the mute to activate. It’s a bit odd and takes a bit to get the hang of it.

• yeah, you have to turn the volume all the way down to consider it being "muted".
