If you're looking for it for games and sports specifically, only consider the 55" and larger models. The 49" model is only 60Hz native refresh rate. Note that there is very little live programming in 4K so most sports you'll watch will be upscaled 720p. Gaming support is good with very low lag in game mode. Depending on whether you need the wide viewing angle support that the LG's IPS panel provides, the similarly priced (but a bit more expensive) Samsung NU8000 series may serve you as well or better, as it incorporates some innovative gaming features like variable refresh rates (currently works with Xbox consoles and AMD PC graphics cards. Like the LG SK8000 series, the NU8000 49" model is only 60Hz.
