Great price on sale and it's a great TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's my first time buying an LG TV and it's also my first time owning a 4k UHD . It has so many features that I haven't been able to look at all of them. I like the TV and I bought it because it was on sale and a great price. I'm happy with it so far and I'm sure that anyone would be. I waited a long time before buying this TV for a few reasons , one was because I didn't need it because my other tv still worked and two was after looking and comparing different types and brands and sizes this was the one I ended up purchasing and my mother's TV went out so that gave me the excuse to but a new one since I gave my mother my old one, lol. I don't think anyone would really be disappointed with this purchase.

Great Cinema Picture Quality
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At first, I thought that I had made a bad purchase until I got to watching 4k movies and playing my PS4 and now I know I made the right decision purchasing this T.V.

Great TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fantastic TV the picture takes a little fooling with to find what's right for you. But after that smooth sailing, and what a upgrade from 1080

Know what you're getting, and you'll be happy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The good: Outstanding smart platform with good app selection; great, innovative Magic remote (like using a Wii); very fast and responsive OS with tons of configuration and calibration options; stylish and well-built design with a stable curved base. TV has good uniformity with little dirty screen effect or clouding (larger models may be different), good anti-reflection screen, wide color gamut but not as wide as higher end TVs. Sound is decent for a flat panel. Like all IPS panels, solid wide viewing angles. Low lag for games. Generous support for four different HDR standards (Dolby Vision, HDR10, HLG, Technicolor Advanced HDR). The bad: Weak contrast compared to a LCD with a VA panel. Local dimming is ineffective and can be distracting--definitely don't set it to high unless you like columns of light on your screen, but medium seems to do okay. In a dim to dark room, blacks look grayish. HDR peak brightness is so-so, with some ability to brighten small highlights appreciably. Bottom line: It's a great TV so long as you know the limitations. IPS LCD panels are good for wide angle viewing areas (because VA LCD panels don't do nearly as well with angles) and decently lit rooms (lighting minimizes the impact of the limited contrast and black levels). I bought this for just such a room and thus I am happy with it, especially given the stellar smart platform. I would not recommend it for sitting directly across or for a dark room, such as a home theater. In that case, it will disappoint, despite the very attractive and expansive features list. However, it would excel in a well-lit living room, a sunroom, or a bedroom, or anywhere with off axis seating. (Note that the 49" is only 60Hz, but will interpolate 30fps and can do 24fps.)

Excellent 4K and HDR
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've enjoyed every moment with this TV since I got it, the speed and ease of use of the interface is amazing. The image quality even with non-4K content is amazing! Must be an excellent upscaller in the system. It's really great for gaming too, I don't notice any ghosting or input lag that I can perceive, and the HDR from the few PS4 games that support it really makes the games pop! Sound quality from such a thin TV is great too, I don't have a soundbar yet but so far it's acceptable audio quality. Not "tinny" sounding as some TVs can get. It's very stylish too, I like the curved base stand and the all-aluminum backing of the TV. Overall, I am very satisfied with my decision to go with this model. It's a "mid-range" model but I can't imagine how much better "higher end" models can be, as this has everything I would ever really need from a 4K HDR TV!

Q: QuestionIs the screen really a true anti glare?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Negative, it is not a true anti glare. You will see some glare but only noticeable in certain conditions. I find the TV looks awesome in a nice evenly lit room. If you have a dim room with a harsh light from a window you will notice some glare.

Q: QuestionIs there a way to turn off the voice that confirms my voice commands? Like when I say voice command "Sling TV", a ladies voice says "Going to Sling TV App". It's not under Accessibility/ Audio Guidance. That lades voice is unneeded and obtrusive.
Asked by nan.

Q: QuestionThe cabinet/table I have to set the TV on is only 30.25 inches wide. You stated the stand is 32 inches wide. What should I do?? I don't think wall mount will be an option in my case. Thanks!
Asked by PachyPalace.
- A:Answer Hi PachPalace. Regrettably, the only option available if the stand is too wide for your current cabinet/table, you may want to consider getting a TV Stand that is wide enough to accommodate the stand. Placing the TV on your current cabinet/table means that the ends of the stand will overlap it by 7/8" on either side if the TV is placed centrally on it. If the aesthetics don't bother you and the TV is secure and sturdy, and doesn't rock from side to side, you could still use your cabinet/table if you're comfortable with that...^IFV

Q: QuestionJust bought the TV but when I watch it it feels like I’m on the set. It’s kinda weird. How do I make it normal? I know with my old Samsung I had to turn off the auto-motion feature. Please help, I feel like I’m in a live Soap Opera. Thank you in advance.
Asked by CaliCliffs.
- A:Answer Yes, the Trumotion feature can be turned off. For information on how to do that please check out the User Guide under category "Tour List of Settings" followed by "Picture" then "Picture Options" then "TruMotion" and select "Off". https://www.lg.com/us/support-product/lg-49SK8000PUA#manuals ^CP
