Hi Maggie, LG 49SM86 TV is manufactured or assembled in Mexico. The country of origin label sealed on the outside packaged carton. I'm pretty certain you're buying an LG TV of excellent build quality. James Certified purchaser LG 49SM86 TV

LG is an international company that has factories worldwide and parts can be shipped from one or various countries and the TV assembled in a different country or manufactured in any country in which LG has a factory.
