A:Answer Great question. I only have 2 negatives for this TV (see my review) and the LG app store is one of them. My hope was that I could stop using my Roku with this TV and just use the apps directly on the TV. I could not find a complete listing of the apps available on the LG app store. So I had to hope and pray the apps I wanted were available.
They were not. Mainly, Pluto TV. There were a couple others that weren't available also. Because of this, I have to keep using my Roku with this brand new tv, because of the lack of apps in their App store. From what I read, its because LG had their own versions of apps, such as Pluto TV, and wants people to use those. If their app had the same stations I like on Pluto TV on their app, then they have a viable alternative, but of course they don't. So its a useless alternative.
Like I said in another answer on here, I'm hoping their apps fail miserably soon, so they will just open up their store to all available apps. I've read on here someone reported they don't offer the ESPN app. I'm hoping they don't make these apps pay crazy prices to host their apps, which will prevent them from going to the lG store. in today's world of apps, I can't believe any manufacturer would limit their library. Its just a negative from buying your product, because people want specific apps they like.
