Hello there, Ronnie. The LG UBK80 Ultra HD Blu-ray player is designed to work with both 4K UHD and non-4K TVs. However, to fully enjoy the benefits of 4K Ultra HD resolution, including enhanced picture quality and clarity, it's recommended to pair the UBK80 with a 4K UHD TV. If you currently have a non-4K TV, you can still use the UBK80 Blu-ray player with it, but you won't experience the full potential of 4K content. If you're considering upgrading your TV to a 4K UHD screen, it would certainly complement the capabilities of the UBK80 player and enhance your viewing experience. ^Jolly
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hello, Ronnie. You do not necessarily need to update or upgrade your TV to a 4K UHD screen when using the LG UBK80 4K Blu-ray player. The UBK80 is capable of outputting 4K UHD video, but it will work with any HDMI-compatible TV, regardless of whether it is 4K or not. -Junel
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Best combination when using a 4K disc player is to have a tv screen with the same . Anything lower will limit the image quality to the level of the TV screen being used but still works.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The majority of blu-ray players will output 1080p to the tv, regardless of the resolution. This blu-ray player is specifically made to output 2160p(4k) when used with 4k blu-ray disks. A normal blu-ray disk is usually 1080p, so unless you plan on buying the special 4k blu-ray disks, you would be better off buying the normal LG blu-ray player, not this 4k model. If you want to upgrade your tv, you can, but for a normal blu-ray or dvd, it is not needed. The nice thing about this model is it will play 4k blu-ray, regular blu-ray, dvd, and cd.
