The detergent resivoir has a sloped bottom, it looks empty in the front long before the back (where it is wider) is empty. If you leave it the add light will eventually come on

Using too much detergent can lead to oversudsing, poor rinsing, detergent buildup in clothing, and residue buildup that can contribute to odors in the washer. When the ezDispense function is turned on, the liquid detergent and softener are dispensed in the set amounts, at the appropriate time during the cycle. A full detergent reservoir will last for about 18 standard cycles, with the drum filled about halfway.The default settings are configured to dispense 1.5 oz (45 ml) of detergent and 1 oz (30 ml) of softener for 8-12 lb (4-6 kg) of normally soiled laundry.
