• Yes you need to keep the door open. There is no other system. There is a magnet or something that will keep the door cracked open if you can't stand it being fully open.

• There is a fresh care option under the wash options list that will tumble finished loads of wet laundry for up to 19 hours to keep it from getting musty. ~Rita
