Can I open the lid once the wash has started? null

The lid locks once the wash cycle has begun. I had to open it about 20 seconds into the cycle, but had to hit the power button to turn it off, add what I forgot and restart the POWER, then hit START again.

Yes, there is a pause function and the machine can then be started at the same point in the cycle.
