There are several options and you can control based upon whether you want an extra rinse, etc. There is a faster wash cycle which I have not used.

You can add an extra rinse which adds time But when you pick the right setting for whatever clothes or bedding or towels, etc you are washing. I have had no doubts my things are clean and fresh when the washer stops You can also set the water temps or spin speed etc or just go with the preset Hope this helps others I think the washer is great and does and excellent job PS: The dryer does an awesome job also.
