Steam is used to sanitise and kill little nasties like dust mites. An agitator is the post in the center of the tub and designed to drag the laundry back down to the bottom. It uses a side to side motion causing a rubbing effect. An impeller (sometimes called the wash plate) is a contoured plate at the bottom of the tub which is designed to rub the items against each other to remove stains. It is gentler the clothing while using less water. Unlike an agitator, an impellor motion pushes the washing up from the center. The turbo wash is the design of impellor or agitator that help when using the normal and speed wash cycles that use the turbo wash feature. The turbo wash setting uses more aggressive motions to wash faster. Turbo wash is availble on select other cycles. The option can save upto 15-20 minutes on the wash time and will use the spray rinse for its final rinse.

Smart Wi-Fi Enabled Top Load Washer with Impeller & TurboWash3D™ Technology, Model # WT7900HBA. Steam boosts the temperature in the washing machine causing the water to steam. It relaxes the clothing fibers so they can absorb more water, allowing the clothing to release deep stains and dirt. It makes the temperatures of the wash hotter, which also allows detergent to dissolve quicker and work more effectively. It cleans clothes in a more effective way than conventional washing machines, and penetrate deep into the fibers to lift out stains and dirt, while also eliminating bacteria (Allergiene® and Sanitary cycles in the washing machine). You can safely clean delicate items, and improve cleaning and stain-removal performance, and it helps with fewer wrinkles in your clothes. Adding the TurboWash® option to a cycle reduces the length of the cycle while maintaining a similar wash performance. It cannot be used with all cycles, and it defaults On for the Normal, Pre Wash+Normal and Speed Wash cycles. Unlike an agitator which is a large spindle located in the center of the machine’s wash drum that has extended fins or blades to move the clothes around, an impeller uses a small cone or disc that rotates and generates currents to move the clothes, and moves water and detergent around while clothes are being washed. It is designed to be gentler on clothes, and takes up less space in the washing machine, allowing for larger loads to be washed, and it uses less water over a shorter time compared to a washing machine with an agitator...^Ivan.
