• The reason I originally asked this question was because a full tray of water is left standing in the softener tray at the end of each wash cycle and that means I have to soak up and dry the tray to prevent stagnant water left in the tray. Leaving the tray out during wash loads eliminates this. This assumes using soap pods and no liquid softener (using dryer softener sheets instead).

• I would think you could. This is the first washer I’ve had that has a soap dispenser.

• We use pods, works fine. Why remove dispenser? No answer to that one.
