Often, new ranges ship with a thin protective plastic film on the handles to guard against scratches during transport. To confirm you’re feeling the stainless steel itself, please try this troubleshooting step: Troubleshooting Step: Gently peel away any protective film from the handle (there may be pull tabs on the underside or ends). If you see or feel any remaining residue afterward, simply wipe the handles with a soft cloth dampened with warm, soapy water, then dry thoroughly.
